Tea by Type
The most common approach to tea classification is by tea types or families. There are six main families: white, yellow, green, oolong, red/black and puer. Puer group is subdivided into cooked or shu puer and green or raw or sheng puer. Ageing of tea is another method of tea processing, and this technique is not only reserved for puer teas. To illustrate the wide options for aged teas we have listed them separately under the aged tea section.
