Also known as Bai Hao Yin Zhen or
the White Downy Silver Needle, this tea is produced from the soft, downy buds
of the original Dai Bai cultivar. Silver Needle is the most subtle of the White Tea family. Our Silver Needle grows in high altitude, making the already subtle flavours even gentler and smoother, yet it has a strong lively character, full of spring and energy.
Origin: Fuding, Fujian, China
Picking: Buds only
Energy: Cooling
Flavour: Gentle and subtly sweet flavour, toasted barley and linseeds, notes of hay, but a very lively undertone with a refreshing feel. Delicate texture and round, sweet aftertaste.
Brewing guidelines | |
Teaware | Porcelain teaware is the best for this tea, but you can also use good quality glass to enjoy the visuals. |
Gong Fu brewing | White tea can tolerate higher temperatures than green tea. We recommend 2g of leaves for 120mk water, multiple infusions @ 90C starting at 40..60 seconds. Can increase infusion time in longer intervals than with oolongs. |
